Where are we located

The Israel Cave Research Center is a part of the Institute of Earth Sciences, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The ICRC offices are located in room 303, south wing, the Institute of Earth Sciences, Givat Ram Campus, Jerusalem, and at Ofra, a village half an hour’s drive from Jerusalem. Both offices are operated by the same staff. The office in Ofra serves as a front base for expedition work, containing most field equipment, research materials, publications, and a library. The ICRC office in Jerusalem deals with research and university teaching.

Database & Research

The ICRC collects any cave and karst data and files it within a dedicated database. We use two systems of data organisation, with basic data gradually transferred into a computerised database based on Airtable™. The Airtable system with associated GIS environment allows elaborate spatial data analysis.
Conservation Efforts

ICRC is actively promoting the conservation of caves. We have produced tens of reports and programmes for cave conservation, and have been actively involved in conservation efforts and campaigns for nature conservation in cave areas.
