Roi Roded

Dr Roi Roded studies thermo-hydro-chemo-mechanical processes in the upper crust using physics-based modelling. Hypogene cave morphologies provide unique insights into these hidden crustal processes, including geothermal circulation, water–rock interactions, deep geochemical fluxes, and magmatic and seismic influences. This research, carried out in collaboration with members of the Israel Cave Research Centre (ICRC), uses these morphological indicators and field observations as key “clues.” By combining geochemical analyses with theoretical and numerical modelling, the work aims to solve the “maze puzzle” of hypogene caves and the complex, coupled processes operating within the Earth’s crust.
