Nimrod Marom

is an archaeozoologist studing faunal remains to understand how animals and animal communities have changed through time under both human and environmental pressures. He co-direct with Guy Bar-Oz the Laboratory of Archaeozoology at the University of Haifa, which is a hub to diverse bioarchaeological research activities. These include work on ancient agropastoralism, trade in animals and plants, paleoecology, and analyses of regional extinction dynamics for charismatic taxa (water voles, leopards, hartebeests, ostriches). He studies cave faunas in Israel (mainly in the Judean Desert) and in Romania.
