Shemesh Ya’aran
is the project manager of the Archive and Database of the Israel Cave Research Center (ICRC), which serves to centralise and optimise all data on the caves of Israel. He has been exploring caves in Israel and abroad since 2011. Currently, he is pursuing his MSc degree at the Hebrew University and the Geological Survey of Israel. His research focuses on the morphotectonics of the Dead Sea Rift through the study of cave speleothems and the early thermal changes of groundwater recorded in caves. Additionally, he maps and surveys caves throughout Israel and conducts research on the ecological system of salt caves in Mount Sodom and in other karst regions.
